[00:00.70]I Want to Dye my Hair Green|[00:04.75] Many of my friends have dyed their hair different colors.|[00:08.54] I don't mean normal hair colors like brown or black.|[00:12.27] My friends have dyed their hair orange, purple and blue.|[00:17.06] I told my mother that I would like to dye my hair green.|[00:21.60] I explained to my mother that I would only use food coloring.|[00:26.33] The green would not last forever.|[00:28.70] My mother said that dyeing your hair was a silly fad.|[00:33.24] She said that I would not look good with green hair.|[00:37.16] I said that if I couldn't dye my hair green,|[00:40.70] maybe I could get a nose ring.|[00:44.00] My mother said "no."|[00:46.06] I said that maybe a tattoo on my arm would be nice.|[00:49.60] My mother said "no way."|[00:52.34] My mother said that she did some crazy things|[00:55.57] when she was a young girl.|[00:57.19] She said that she used to iron her hair to make it straight.|[01:01.05] That sounds quite boring to me.|[01:03.41] My friend Joan came over.|[01:06.27] Her hair is dyed bright pink.|[01:08.39] My father said "nice hair, Joan."|[01:11.37] I don't think that he really meant it.|[01:13.93] My mother says that when I am an adult|[01:16.97] I can dye my hair whatever crazy color I like,|[01:20.64] but for now she would like me to leave my hair its natural color.|[01:24.62] I tried to tell her that all my friends were doing it.|[01:27.80] My mother asked, "if all your friends were jumping off a cliff,|[01:31.15] would you do it too?"|[01:32.71] I said "no."|[01:34.81] I think I'll have to wait to have green hair,|[01:37.67] but maybe by the time I'm old enough to dye|[01:39.60] my hair green, I won't want it that color.|[01:42.59] My mother says that fads change all the time.|[01:45.89] One day something might be popular,|[01:48.06] and the next day it's not in style at all.|[01:50.55] I'll just have to live without green hair for now.|[01:53.85] I wonder what the fad will be next month.
