[00:00.30]The Trunk in the Attic|[00:01.81] Last month my grandmother asked me|[00:03.62] if I could help her to clean out her attic.|[00:05.85] I was happy that she asked me.|[00:07.85] My grandmother says that her attic is full of junk.|[00:11.52] I think that her attic is full of treasures.|[00:14.50] I helped her to dust and vacuum the attic.|[00:17.43] I pulled and pushed around boxes and crates.|[00:20.66] I helped her to wash the floors and walls.|[00:23.77] My favorite thing that I did was to sort|[00:26.38] through the old trunk that she had up there.|[00:29.37] The trunk had a rusty latch on it.|[00:32.23] It was a bit difficult to open,|[00:34.10] but my grandmother got a knife|[00:36.46] and pried the latch open.|[00:38.14] The trunk was full of all kinds of things.|[00:41.00] There were lots of clothes.|[00:43.24] Some of the clothes had been my grandmother's.|[00:45.73] There was a blue velvet dress|[00:47.66] that she had worn to a dance|[00:49.03] when she and my grandfather were dating.|[00:51.45] It was a beautiful dress,|[00:53.26] but there were a few moth holes in it.|[00:55.69] There were some of my mother's old clothes.|[00:58.23] There was a pair of bell-bottom slacks|[01:00.41] that had bright flowers on it.|[01:02.40] I couldn't believe|[01:03.71] that my mother had ever worn something like that.|[01:06.45] There were some of my mother's old report cards.|[01:09.31] Some of her marks weren't very good.|[01:11.98] I had fun reading the report cards.|[01:14.59] There were photographs.|[01:16.59] There was a picture of my grandparents|[01:18.82] holding my mother when she was a baby.|[01:21.00] There was an old baseball glove|[01:23.24] that one of my uncles had owned.|[01:24.86] There was even one of my old dolls in there.|[01:27.47] One of her legs was missing.|[01:29.46] My grandmother said|[01:30.64] that I was rough with my dolls when I was little.|[01:33.20] I should have taken better care of my toys.|[01:35.81] There was even some old jewellery.|[01:38.23] I tried on some of the old clothes and jewellery.|[01:41.16] I told my grandmother|[01:43.21] that I liked looking through old things.|[01:45.26] My grandmother told me to keep whatever I wanted.|[01:48.81] She said that it was all junk.|[01:51.36] I still say that the trunk was full of treasures.
