[00:00.10]Visiting the Zoo|[00:02.50]
When I was a kid, I always
enjoyed visiting the zoo.|[00:06.05]
My family lived far
away from the zoo,|[00:08.35]
so we didn't go
there very often.|[00:10.59]
But whenever we went to the zoo,|[00:12.89]
I always had a fun
and interesting time.|[00:15.94]
Some of the animals
were very large.|[00:18.74]
Of course, the
elephants were huge,|[00:21.66]
and they had such an
unusual appearance,|[00:24.77]
with their big ears and
their long trunk and tusks.|[00:29.00]
The giraffes were very tall,|[00:31.18]
with long necks that
reached high into the trees.|[00:35.04]
Some of my favorite
animals were the big cats.|[00:39.02]
The lions looked very powerful,|[00:41.50]
with their big teeth and paws.|[00:43.81]
The tigers were just
as big and strong,|[00:46.73]
with yellow and black stripes.|[00:48.66]
But the bears were even
larger than these cats.|[00:52.95]
The polar bears, with
their bright white fur,|[00:56.31]
liked to swim through the water.|[00:58.36]
The grizzly bears had brown fur|[01:01.54]
and liked to roam
around on land.|[01:04.52]
The animals from Australia
seemed very unusual.|[01:08.38]
The kangaroos, with their
strong legs and long tail,|[01:13.04]
could jump great
distances across the ground.|[01:17.03]
The baby kangaroo could
go inside its mother's pouch.|[01:21.44]
Another Australian
animal, the koala bear,|[01:25.67]
crawled slowly in the
trees, where it ate leaves.|[01:29.84]
The monkeys and apes
were also very interesting.|[01:35.56]
In many ways, they
reminded me of people.|[01:38.92]
Some of the monkeys
were very small.|[01:41.72]
They could use their arms, legs,|[01:44.33]
and tail to swing
through the trees.|[01:47.01]
Some of the apes
were very large.|[01:49.81]
The gorilla was
the largest of all.|[01:52.55]
Sometimes a big
gorilla would stand up|[01:55.78]
and pound his
fists on his chest.|[01:58.21]
To see all the animals at the
zoo took almost a whole day.|[02:02.62]
By the end of the day,|[02:04.30]
I was very tired
from walking around.|[02:06.92]
But I was also very happy to see|[02:10.21]
all the amazing animals
from places around the world.
