[00:00.10]University|[00:02.24]
It's time to sign up for school.|[00:04.23]
This year Natalie is
going to Brock University.|[00:08.27]
She has never been
to university before.|[00:11.32]
She is a little bit scared.|[00:14.06]
She hopes she meets
nice, new friends.|[00:17.48]
Natalie stood in line
to get her picture taken.|[00:21.27]
The picture was put on a card.|[00:24.07]
The card was her
picture ID (identification).|[00:28.86]
She would use this card|[00:30.85]
if she needed to buy books
from the school bookstore;|[00:34.40]
if she wanted to get a
book from the library;|[00:36.64]
or if she wanted
to use the pool!|[00:39.31]
After all of the signing
up and money was paid,|[00:42.36]
Natalie went out to
lunch with her mother.|[00:45.35]
"Mom, I'm kind of scared
about going to school.|[00:49.20]
I'm going to be the
youngest kid there.|[00:52.00]
I don't know how to take notes.|[00:54.36]
The teachers might be
mean....", Natalie rambled on.|[00:58.72]
Her mom just calmed
her down and said,|[01:01.77]
"Take one day at a time,
Natalie. Worry only about today."|[01:06.43]
"Hmmm. You're
right, Mom. Thanks!"|[01:10.42]
Natalie was very scared
on the first day of school.|[01:14.21]
She made sure she had
all of the books she needed|[01:17.20]
and lots of pens,
pencils and erasers.|[01:20.24]
She walked into the
front of the building|[01:22.61]
and went on her way to
try and find her classroom.|[01:25.91]
Natalie got through her classes|[01:28.21]
and met a lot of new
people, nice people.|[01:31.76]
Her classes seemed
to go by really fast,|[01:34.55]
and the day went by even faster.|[01:37.11]
When Natalie got home
she was so excited.|[01:40.84]
She told her mom that
classes weren't all that scary;|[01:44.38]
the students and the
teachers weren't scary either!|[01:47.43]
Natalie knew that the
school work would be hard,|[01:50.48]
but she felt good about the
people she had met that day.|[01:53.71]
She knew she'd have a good year.
