Learn by Listening Level 2

I have always liked music.|[00:05.55] Even when I was very young, I liked music.|[00:08.97] I like to listen to it, and to make it.|[00:12.51] When I was a little girl,|[00:14.19] listening to nice music would sometimes make me cry!|[00:17.93] That may seem silly,|[00:19.67] but the music was so pretty that I cried!|[00:22.65] As I grew older, I started to take piano lessons.|[00:27.20] I was not very good at first, but after a while I got better.|[00:32.17] Also, as I grew older, I started to take violin lessons.|[00:36.90] I did not sound very good at all at first, but I improved.|[00:41.63] When I was a teenager in high school,|[00:43.99] I made sure I had music classes every year.|[00:47.41] Those were the classes I enjoyed most of all.|[00:50.09] Everyone loved music, and we had a lot of fun.|[00:53.45] I started to take private singing lessons|[00:56.00] while I was in high school, too.|[00:58.11] I also sang in the choir, played in a band|[01:01.10] and acted in plays in high school.|[01:03.84] The plays were all musicals,|[01:05.76] so I got to sing and dance and enjoy music that way also.|[01:09.50] It was so much fun pretending to be other people!|[01:12.98] When I finished high school,|[01:15.41] I went to university to learn how to be a music teacher.|[01:18.95] That was a lot of fun|[01:20.69] because every day I was with other people|[01:23.12] who loved music as much as I do.|[01:25.23] Mostly I played the piano,|[01:27.54] but I also learned how to play the drums, a saxophone,|[01:31.21] a trombone, a French horn, a clarinet, a flute,|[01:35.37] which I REALLY was not very good at, and a viola.|[01:39.04] I took more singing lessons, too.|[01:42.16] We did not have plays to sing and act in,|[01:44.89] but I sang in the university choir.|[01:47.32] Some years, I played the piano for other students|[01:50.61] who were learning other instruments.|[01:52.67] One year, I played duets with another girl|[01:56.34] who was also there to play piano.|[01:58.64] She and I made sure we played fast, funny songs,|[02:01.87] so we really enjoyed ourselves doing it.|[02:04.86] Now, I am a music teacher.|[02:07.29] I do not have a lot of students, not as many|[02:10.71] as I used to have anyway.|[02:12.51] I still find it very rewarding.|[02:14.81] I like to see people who start off not knowing very much,|[02:18.42] if anything, and go on to be very good at creating music.|[02:22.59] I still love listening to music also.|[02:26.07] Music makes me happy when I am sad.|[02:29.06] It makes me want to dance or sing when I am already happy.|[02:33.23] Mostly, music just makes me glad|[02:36.65] that I am me and that music is alive in me.
